Wordpress is a awesome blogging platform, you can almost anything you want in that. So, today I am going to show you a easy tutorial about how to make your Wordpress blog into a Online Shopping Site.
There are a list of plugins for making your wordpress blog look like and also works like a Shopping site. They are as follows:
1. WP-Ecommerce
Wp-Ecommerce is mostly used in many wordpress blogs for Shopping site, and it is also easy to use it. Follow the simple steps below to make your blog a Shopping site with WP-Ecommerce.
- Download the wordpress plugin.
- Upload it in your plugins directory and activate it from your wordpress admin.
- After the plugin is installed, setup default shipping country and associated shipping settings, presentation settings, receipt notification email address, payment gateway easily from your wordpress admin.
- Now, you are ready to add your products and go on.
2. eStore Plugin
eStore plugin is also a good solution for making a online shopping site with wordpress, the main problem is it is a paid plugin and it costs $25. But the features are worth of it. You can get it from TipsandTricks-HQ.com. The installation steps for eStore plugins are:
- After purchase download the plugin and install it to your plugin directory of wordpress.
- Activate the plugin through the Plugins menu in WordPress.
- After you are done doing that, Activate the plugin from your wordpress admin, and then you will see a separate menu of it under settings panel.
- In that menu click on “Settings” tab to start of with.
- The default settings are already set, if you want make any changes you can. And also make sure to change the ‘Random Code’ to something hard to guess.
- Now after you are done just click on “Add/Edit Products” menu and start adding products.
3. eShop Plugin
eShop plugin is easy to customize and useful plugin for making a Online Shopping Site. The plugin is absolutely free. The installation steps for eShop plugins are:
- Download the plugin, and upload it into your plugins folder and after doing so activate from your wordpress admin panel.
- After you are done so, the plugin will display a menu under settings menu and from there you handle it’s settings and add products.
- By default when you activate the plugin, it starts working and you have to just upload the products.
4. Shopp plugin
Shopp plugin is another great plugin of wordpress for making a online shopping site. But it is also a paid plugin and the price is $55, the price worth of it if we compare with it’s features. The most common payment gateway’s are already included in it. Find more information about it. The installation process is really simple.
- Just like other’s upload the the downloaded zip file in the plugins directory and activate it.
- It really easy to use it, after you activate it the plugin has started working and if you want to do any changes, then just go to settings tab.

There are many themes as well plugins which are not included here but are also good for making a shopping site with wordpress. The above listed plugins and themes are most commonly used and also have some good features.

Nice tutorial! I thought that Wordpress is only awesome for blogging while Drupal and Joomla are better choices for making shopping site, but maybe I was wrong

I tried the other plugins and eventually opted for WP eStore. I’m not using all the features, but I like way it works.

there are also some great themes that focus on online shopping site, i think it about time when wordpress release cms that specialize in shopping site since i think the demand is quite high.

Why don’t you use Wordpress? It would cool for your blog.
Many of my friend are using WP-Ecommerce plugin in their wordpress blogs and they are recommending it to them too.
